Each year Subzero Coaching runs giant slalom training for instructors interested in attending the Eurotest or the ISIA test during the winter months.

During the 2015/16 season our ISIA training team attending a dedicated week of GS training with one of the best coaches in the market: Robby Bonavita. Italian coach and ex-racer, his training experience is astonishing, including work on the World Cup and Olympic circuit. He is busy with Eurotest training sessions pretty much year round, preparing different groups of italian skiers.

Under Robby’s guidance the group had great fun and made great improvements.
In addition to Jake, Bruce and Cazz from the ISIA team, the training was attended by Patricia, a ski instructor from another school in Zermatt, as well as Lisa and Gregor, instructors based in Verbier and Meribel.
For that week we moved the team from Zermatt to Valtournenche, providing accommodation in a family-run hotel with a great Italian cuisine (large breakfast and 3 course meal dinner) and at a very competitive price!
Under Robby’s guidance, gates-training was 4 hours a day, with the afternoon dedicated to open field skiing. Practicing the correct movements following the morning’s video analysis is much more productive than trying to squeeze in a lower performance additional run in gates.
On the Cervinia mountains, we had a red and black run to challenge those going for the test sooner and to push those with less experience a little further.
The training was organised in a small group. So we can guarantee plenty of attention to each individual, making the most out of the time we had. As well, Robby’s manner is that of someone who knows what they are doing; calm and to the point.

Alongside Robby we are working to find the best way to organize more Eurotest training. With a program that will support a constant improvement at a reasonable price!
